I'm now teaching out of my home studio in Atwater Village near to Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Glendale, Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Hollywood, Highland Park and Downtown on MONDAY, THURSDAY and SUNDAYS. I also just started teaching out of a great studio in VENICE on WEDNESDAYS!

Rachel Lynn is once again offering performance and vocal coaching to students who are serious about improving their vocal technique and becoming better performers, both in the Studio and on Stage.

"I make a living with my voice and so can you...Some people say that you're either HOT at recording or HOT at performing. I'm here to say that you can be both. If you're wanting to perfect your craft from head to toe then I'd love to speak with you."


Philosophy:
'I can't tell you how many friends and fans have come up to me and said, 'I've always wanted to sing.' or 'If I could have one thing in the world, it would be the ability to sing'.

Well, here's what I believe: I believe that we can have anything we desire. Yes, anything...and I'm the first to agree that some people have 'natural talent'. But, even those people had to choose to recognize and improve their talent...and you can too. First you have to get out of the 'comparison' mode that we've been brought up with, ex: "I can't sing like her, but at least I sing better than her"...because let me tell you: If you're not the absolute BEST that you can be, then what's the use of comparing? (and this applies to the most ADVANCED of singers) You'll always short side yourself as long as you’re one little step above someone else. I'm here to help you recognize your talent and to develop it to whatever capacity and to whatever level you're willing to take it, so you can be your best.'


Technique:
Every smart vocalist begins and maintains their craft with correct singing technique. Simply 'singing from the diaphragm' doesn't cut it for the professional and RL is here to show you what does. She will create an individual workout for you that strengthens and tones your vocal muscles so you can sing into that mic with total confidence.

RL's technique is a combination of basic Speech Level Singing and 18 years of experience: simply put.

'What works on paper doesn't necessarily work in the studio and many times hasn't worked on stage...unless it is practiced. There are simple lessons to be shared and exercised for those 'heated' moments of vocal anxiety. Those moments can and will be in the past for you. Knowledge is power.'

Studio Performance:
About to go into the studio to drop an album? Coach with RL before and during the process to make sure that every second behind that mic counts. Want to sing in a pro studio and not sure that you have what it takes? RL will take you through step by step, if needed and will touch on:

•mic adjustment/techique
•producer/engineer listening skills
•how to communicate your needs
•ear training for harmonies

The Studio:
RL is now coaching out of Avenue 34 Studios in Eagle Rock.

The space is located off of Eagle Rock Blvd., exit Verdugo Road. It is spacious and vibacious with LIVE microphones, iso booth, stage and large PA system. It is a great space for building a show in a show style environment, yet intimate enough to feel like you're in your own living room. Parking is free 24 hours a day and the space is only 2 minutes off of the 2 freeway.

RL also offers mobile coaching at your own home or studio for a nominal additional fee.


RL Training/Experience:

•16 months of overseas tour experience with El-Live Productions: Performing 6 nights a week with 6 & 7 piece Top 40 band on the Asian 5 Star Hotel Club Circuit.
•Coached with Lee Lontoc (The Hollywood Vocal Coach- Speech Level Singing Certified)
•In house songwriter/vocalist at Avenue 34 Studios.
•Bachelors of Arts Degree (University of Oregon) - Focus on Theatre, Spanish and Music
•Aural Skills, Sight Reading, Theory 1-3 (UofO)
•Former-member of the 'Gospel Singers' (UofO's most elite Gospel group)
•18 years of LIVE performance experience. 5 years of recording experience.
•Resident Performance atHarvelle's in Santa Monica with House of Vibe Band.


RL Accolades:

•Vocals on Disney's High School Musical 2 Soundtrack! It is the largest seen show in television debut history.
•Song placement (songwriting/vocals) on 'Motives 2: Retribution' soundtrack.
•Studio Vocalist for a McDonald's Germany commercial. It is being considered as the new McDonalds theme for other European countries and for a world wide broadcast.
•Signs an agreement with VAM out of NYC for major representation as a studio vocalist: commercials, jingles, voice overs.
•Releases her CD New Day on Rolling Beat Records
•Named one of TOP FIVE in Singer Universe Magazine for her song Torture.
•Many print reviews complimenting her excellent voice, control and style.

RL Vocal Session:
At your first session, RL will recognize immediately where you are in your vocal development and work with you to create a personalized workout.

'As a student of voice it was very important to me to always be challenged and to always learn something new. I didn't want to feel as if I was doing arpeggios that I could easily be doing at home. In that same light: I want my students to know that they're improving by being on top of their progress and moving with them to whatever level they're willing to work for.'

All sessions that follow involve an extensive vocal workout, troubleshooting and caregiving, recording or performing technique practice and always end with a small career coaching and inspirational session.

'I like to be familiar with what my students are doing with their career and support them in any way that I can. Career coaching isn't something I've studied...it's something that I naturally do with my own peers and other area musicians. Remember that your success is my success: I know that to be true on a very literal and spiritual level.'
